A retrospective of architect Carl Abbott, an original member of the Sarasota School of Architecture, is currently on display at the Selby Gallery on the Ringling College of Art + Design campus. Abbott was a student of Paul Rudolph and Louis Kahn at Yale University and was elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. One of the most awarded and respected architects in the Florida / Caribbean region, his recognitions include the Medal of Honor for Design, the Architectural Firm Award, and University of Florida’s Distinguished Architectural Alumni Award. He has lectured and taught throughout the U.S. and Europe.
